Business has become dependent on the availability of IT systems and nothing is
more disturbing than having a customer reporting that a system failed.
, you will be notified
automatically when a system does not perform as expected. If the recipient does not respond in the expected time frame, then the alert can be escalated to a different team member to ensure reception of the alert.

Email alerting
ServersCheck can notify you per email using either its built-in mail server or any outgoing SMTP
server (using basic authentication or not). The content of the email can be customized using
predefined variables.

SMS / Text Messages alerting
SMS alerts can be sent using 3 different methods: using a standard data modem by calling the mobile operator's
modem pool. This option is not recommended as it is being discontinued by more and more operators. Second option is to use a GSM modem. We recommend Falcom USB GSM Modems. Last option is to use a subscription based service: ClickATell (this requires a direct internet
connection to send out SMS alerts).

MSN alerting
Alerts can be sent to your MSN instant messaging application. If you use MSN on a mobile device (PDA, phone),
then the alerts will be sent using the MSN protocol to your mobile device.
|
 |
Voice phone alerting
ServersCheck can call you on your land line phone. By converting text to speech, it
will read you out what the error message is. This option requires a voice modem to be attached
to the ServersCheck computer.

SMS messages to server
Alerts can be escalated: when a recipient does not reply to the alert in the expected time frame, the notification
is sent to a different person or group of persons. The original recipient of the alert can either connect to the
application using a browser or he can send a SMS message to the server and let it know that the alert is being dealt with.
Status updates can also be sent to the main console using SMS messages.
This requires a Falcom GSM modem or similar.

Team based alerting
This option enables users to define alerting methods (such as SMS, email, MSN,...) based upon specific user profiles
by looking at the time of the day and the day of the week. For example you could have in one team emails being sent out
during office hours and SMS alerts after office hours and during weekends.
