It is recommended to run a monitoring software on a dedicated system (or dedicated virtual server); some applications may influence performance/availability of the computer on which the monitoring software normally runs and as a result affect the monitoring solution itself.
ServersCheck's Server Monitoring and Network Monitoring Software requires at least the following system resources:
- Intel Pentium III (or higher) or equivalent
- 100 MB of disk space
- BUSINESS edition: 512-1GB MB of RAM
- PREMIUM edition: 1GB of RAM
- Windows 2000, Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Media, Windows XP Tablet or Windows Server 2003
- Browser: Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2+
- GSM modem or ClickATell subscription is required for SMS alerting
ServersCheck's Monitoring Software will not get any performance increase by running it on a server edition of Windows. XP or Windows 2000 Pro are as good as Windows 2000/2003 Server Editions. By running it on a XP or Windows Pro platform your total cost of deployment of this monitoring solution will be substantially lowered. It may not be installed on a Domain Controller if you are trying to perform Windows based checks.
